The estimated shower filter life is approximately 6 months or 10,000 gallons of water, whichever comes first. Our calculations are based on a shower flow rate of 2.1 gallons per minute (GPM). The lifespan of the shower filter will change depending on the total number of daily uses, how many minutes per week the filter is used, and the flow rate of the shower head that you attach the filter to. The DFC@Home™ app can notify you when it’s time to change the filter cartridge.

Remove your existing shower head by rotating counterclockwise
Flush the shower arm with water and remove any residual sealant or plumber’s tape on the shower arm threads.
Unthread to remove the plastic storage cap from the mounting nut on the shower filter. Verify the filter gasket is in place in the mounting nut, and remove the storage sticker from the mounting threads.
Orient the shower filter to the final position below the shower arm. Hold the filter in place while tightening the mounting nut from the shower filter onto your existing shower arm - rotating it clockwise. Finish tightening the mounting nut with a soft-jawed or adjustable strap wrench, but do not overtighten.
Verify that the gasket is still in place in the shower head, then hand tighten the shower head onto the shower filter.
