PRODUCT FEATURES
Your new grab bar coordinates with many Delta branded fixtures and competitive bath suites while offering an attractive safety feature in the bath. The wall anchor included with this grab bar provides a secure mount and, when properly installed, supports up to 500 pounds of force. That's twice the ADA requirement. Mounting on wood blocking behind all wall surfaces is preferable for additional security.

Doesn’t look like a grab bar
These grab bars are beautiful, a work of art. They don’t look like the run of the mill grab bars, so I don’t feel so handicapped when I use them. They look beautiful in my bathrooms. They were not easy to put up because they had to be exactly placed so the set screw would go in so I wish they had better instructions but but other than that, they are amazing.

Delta grab bars
Nice product- but the mounting flanges are a stinker if you have any screw-heads sticking out to far. I had to grind down heads of masonry screws for the plates to seat tight enough to get Ellen screws to go in without stripping. Nice finish very solid, but FYI

Thank you for your question. The Delta Grab bar 41742-RB is a 42" bar that is not adjustable, it can not be shortened.

42" for a grab is much too wide. Do you offer one smaller?

do any of you ADA compliant grab bars have a peened grip? or how do you address slip resisitant requirement?

We had grab bars installed this week in our new shower. After just testing the new shower head, the water spots on the grab bars are very noticeable and I cannot clean them. How can I get rid of the water spots? We installed a water softener.

If water spots cannot be easily removed with a damp cloth, we recommend using 50/50 white vinegar and water by wiping, spraying, or soaking. See here for more information:

I an trying to find a 42" grab bar that is 1½" all i can find are 1¼. I can not believe that it does not exist. Please advise proper search directions or give me some kind of help.

With regards to a stainless finish on a grab bar, does the finish hold up in a shower only environment? What about water spots?

Our stanless finish is applied with a PVD process used to create a very durable, corrosion and tarnish resistant finishes. This process is commonly used for bathroom fixtures and entry hardware, which are exposed to frequent moisture and/or salt air.
